Sildenafil and Tadalafil both belong to a class of medications called PDE5 inhibitors. These work by blocking an enzyme called PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5), which in turn temporarily relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation.
