Minoxidil is one of the most widely used, clinically-approved hair loss treatments on the market. It’s used by millions of people all around the world to help fight against hair loss and stimulate new hair growth.
As with all medications, Minoxidil does have the potential to cause side effects for some users.
The common side effects of Minoxidil were found to be localised to the site of medication application (scalp) and include: itching, irritation, burning sensation, flaking of the scalp, and redness. These side effects are typically mild in nature, and should resolve without intervention.
Our unique solution does not contain alcohol and propylene glycol, which are commonly found in other Minoxidil solutions. Alcohol and propylene glycol have been known to cause dandruff, irritation and itchiness of the scalp.
When used as directed, Minoxidil is unlikely to cause significant issues. However, some topical Minoxidil side effects may develop if you use the solution excessively, such as by applying it more than two times per day or using too much of it on your scalp at once. Potential side effects associated with excessive Minoxidil use include: Dizziness and/or lightheadedness, swelling that affects your face, ankles, stomach or hands, changes in your body weight, difficulty breathing, chest pain and/or a rapid heartbeat, and headaches.
If you do experience side effects with this medication, please message a clinician directly through your Care Portal to obtain further advice.
