Hard Mints™ are chewable, mint-flavored tablets containing one or more of the active substances Sildenafil and Tadalafil, both of which belong to a class of medications called PDE5 inhibitors. These work by blocking an enzyme called PDE5 (phosphodiesterase type 5), which in turn temporarily relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation.
While PDE5 inhibitors have traditionally been prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, they can also be used to treat premature ejaculation and to improve overall sexual quality of life. They can also help you to achieve another erection more easily after orgasm. The usage of PDE5 inhibitors as a treatment for premature ejaculation is referred to as an 'off-label' usage of the medication.
